UPDATE:
An attempt to move a new state
record 95-pound blue catfish caught
by a 10-year-old fisherman near
Natchez failed when the giant fish
died after arriving at the Museum of
Natural Science in Jackson.

Museum officials said the catfish,
caught March 16 by Dakota Hinson
in the Mississippi River, lived less
than 24 hours after its arrival. The
fish, they said, was in poor shape
after spending two nights in a
shallow creek secured by a rope
before being transferred.
